Malo’s latest album (Sinners & Saints) was self-produced in his home studio and is brimming with deeply personal beliefs and passions. It is the most intimate, honest and complex album he has made in an already distinguished career. You will hear in it a lifetime’s journey, from the singer and songwriter’s youth in the Cuban neighborhoods of Miami through his years with hit country band the Mavericks to his place today as one of the most intriguing and talented artists in the Americana and World Music scenes.
Malo will close out Saturday’s schedule (July 9) for Maplewoodstock 2011.

Dressed in leather, brandishing heavy guitars, and an unabashed fetish for British Invasion pop, New Jersey’s own The Smithereens was an anomaly in the American college rock scene of the late ’80s.
For the past quarter century, this iconic rock band has toured non-stop, recording and releasing Gold and Platinum albums that spawned countless Top 40 radio hits.
The Smithereens will close out Maplewoodstock 2011 on Sunday night, July 10.

Yep, folks. We got 60+ band application. We are closed. Stay tuned as we review all submissions.
However, we are still looking for some more t-shirt design submissions until April 4. You get fame, glory, and a gift certificate to a local restaurant. So, all you local graphic artists out there in our (very) artistic community: get busy!
Our community is so vibrant and rich with creative and passionate people, we again ask to rely on you to create the face of Maplewoodstock 2011. This year, we eagerly anticipate fresh t-shirt ideas for the Maplewoodstock 2011 Music & Arts Festival.
Read more and submit your t-shirt design at http://maplewoodstock.com/art/t-shirt-design-contest.
Band applications for Maplewoodstock 2011 are now open on our maplewoodstock.com/music page. Application deadline is March 15!
As always, we will be trying to curate the best lineup of free music of and for the community.
Good luck!
Maplewoodstock 2011 will be Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, 2011.
Our band submission process will be much the same as last year: you submit a single song in MP3 format and pay a small handling charge.
We are updating the website and plan to have the band submission form up by Feb 1, 2011.
A local group is doing a combination art project and food drive at Maplewoodstock. They are looking for nonperishable items including canned goods, pasta and peanut butter.
There will be a Maplewoodstock Info Booth (with a lost-and-found bin) at the top of the hill. If you need help or directions, ask at the Info Booth.
Our friends over at the Maplewood South Orange Bicycle Coalition are having a family bike ride on the Sunday of Maplewoodstock. The ride is scheduled for noon, July 11. Meet-up is in the Baird Center parking Lot, with people encouraged to wear their tie-dyed finest.
Check the Coalition out on their website.
