Goodbye until next year:

Wow!  Another amazing year.  Thanks to everyone who came out and participated as an audience member, vendor, or volunteer.  In the days and weeks ahead, we'll be uploading photos and videos to our Facebook, YouTube, and Flickr channels -- as well as MaplewoodOnline and some video archived on the Busker.co app.  If you are looking for our LOST AND FOUND, please go to our Facebook channel.

New blanket and canopy policy for 2016:

We have been asked to work with the town and the Maplewood Police Department to incorporate some of our own evolving crowd management guidelines with local township ordinances now being enforced. Please read, all who plan to bring a tent, canopy, or blanket:

  1. We will continue to have Canopy Zone -- beyond which tents and canopies cannot be set up.
  2. Tents and canopies are no longer allowed overnight.  The town will remove them.  Tent and canopies cannot be set up before 8 AM on Saturday and Sunday.
  3. If you're not there, expect to share.  In other words, if you "hold" your space with an empty blanket or tent, other may use it in your absence.

Read the full policy.

Some festival adjustments:

By consolidating our Arts Vendors on the south side of the park (towards the library), we have opened up some new grass areas for our audience on the north side (Oakview side) of the park.  Accordingly, the "canopy line" will now be above the asphalt pathway on that side of the park.  We hope this small adjustment provides more audience space and clusters our Arts Vendors together more favorably.

The map below should give you a reasonable idea of what we're aiming for.  We will make final arrangements during our set-up on Friday afternoon and Saturday morning.

(Before you comment on the DIY nature of our map, consider this a request for a volunteer to help us make a more professional map next year.)

Sunday headliner:  NRBQ

Legendary NRBQ will bring their quirky 4-piece brand of rock, pop, and jazz styles to Maplewoodstock 2016.  Knowing for their spirited and improvisational live performances, their touring circuit has taken them to parts north, south, east, and west over their lengthy career.  Their songs have been covered by Los Lobos, Dave Edmunds, and Bonnie Raitt.

NRBQ will shepherd Maplewoodstock 2016 to a close with a Sunday night set starting at 8:15 pm.

Featured Artist Maya Azucena

Brooklyn’s Maya Azucena graced our stage in 2010 and is back by popular demand.
A multi-award winning indie soul rockstar, she is known for making music that uplifts the soul.  In 2015, Maya toured to Haiti, South Africa, India and Russia among her U.S. concerts. Azucena is currently on the cusp of her newest album, “Unleash Me,” which sounds like "a female Bruno Mars, if Bruno sang like Chaka.”

Maya will play a 7:15 pm set towards the end of Day 1 of Maplewoodstock 2016.

Featured Artist Nicole Atkins

Internationally acclaimed American musician Nicole Atkins is a rare artist whose timeless songwriting and raw, emotional voice spans the ages. The miasma of faded glamour and nostalgic pop noir of her critically lauded début album, Neptune City (2007), secured her place in Rolling Stone’s “Top 10 Artists To Watch,” where they praised her “voice full of longing and Loretta Lynn elegance.”

Nicole will set the stage for our festival’s ending with her 6:45 pm set towards the end of Day 2 of Maplewoodstock 2016.
