If you want to volunteer for our 2025 festival — for just one on-site hour or several hours of background support — please apply below and feel free to reach out to maplewoodstock@gmail.com if you have questions.

One of our 10 member volunteers will get back to you.

Yes, there is some hard work, but more importantly FUN work with a bunch of friends, neighbors, and comrades.

The Maplewoodstock Festival is run by 10 volunteers on the core Committee who do planning work year-round. This festival is BY the community and FOR the community, and our commitment to keeping this two-day celebration of art and music free for everyone is part of who we are.  To do that, we need the help of incredible people like you to help with t-shirt sales, event set-up, traffic coordination, vendor support, event clean up, and so many other details. We appreciate your willingness to sign-up and we will contact you with more information closer to the festival.

Our annual festival would not be possible without several dozen volunteers who commit from an hour or so to a full weekend of on-site work.

Our volunteer needs largely fall into several buckets:

  • Taking shifts in the weeks leading up to the festival to help sell our merch in sidewalk sales;
  • Showing up on our Friday set-up and Saturday morning load-in to help direct traffic, orient vendors, mark out spaces, hang signs, etc.
  • Staffing the Beer Garden in partnership with our local colleagues at the South Orange Elk’s Lodge # 1154 (if over 21 and appropriately trained).

Other longer-horizon volunteer opportunities could include grant writing/applying, fund raising, merch design and production, graphic design, etc.

Every volunteer (regardless of position) is required to sign a waiver stipulating they are aware that the activities may include some light manual labor, interaction with festival attendees, being in close proximity to heavy stage and musical equipment, selling merchandise (and in some cases selling alcoholic beverages for which the Volunteer must be 21 years of age or older), and other tasks.

On-site volunteers will be given wristbands to identify themselves to our attendees and fellow volunteers and support staff.  And, on-site volunteers (during the typically hot and sunny festival weekend) are welcome to water and shade in our Volunteer Tent adjacent to the stage (where volunteers will have already checked in).

We welcome youthful volunteers … and minors are required to have a parental or guardian co-sign.
