20 Under 20 Art Gallery:

In celebration of our 20th festival, we presented a “20 Under 20” Art Gallery under our LONG HALL — 20 young up-and-coming artists from our MAPSO community 20 years old and under.

The Gallery was juried by 3-5 local arts-connected folks in the MAPSO community.  This is a non-commercial opportunity for young artists to present their work in a low-stress situation.

  • Painting, photograph, sculpture, fabrics, ceramics, etc;
  • There is an application process, so our jury can curate a diverse offering of “The 20” from our community; AND — this is NOT a competition; there no charges to participate and are no prizes to award;
  • This is NOT a sales opportunity — such that it DOES NOT compete with our 60 other Arts Vendors selling their wares;
  • Selected artists will need to show up on the Saturday and Sunday mornings and evening of the festival to hang their art and collect their art to return home;
  • Artists are NOT required to be present during the Gallery, but are are welcome to swing by occasionally to converse with the viewers about their works;
  • The Art Gallery is displayed under THE LONG HALL on the East Field, so rain should not be a concern.  And, in the event of a torrential thunderstorm or tornado, the Maplewoodstock Festival is not responsible for any damage;
  • Lastly, while we welcome diverse artistic expression, the jury of the privately funded Maplewoodstock Festival reserves the right to curate artwork that reflects a positive and inclusive spirit. We aim to avoid overly politicized, divisive, or sexualized content, striving to create a welcoming environment for all attendees.  Yes; works of art should rightly ask questions and present viewpoints.  And, Maplewoodstock is purposefully devoid of politics, causes, and advocacy so that that our MAPSO community can come together as friends and neighbors.

Maplewoodstock offers this as a platform for the young burgeoning artists in our community.
